On September 2, 2022, IFA, the largest consumer electronics exhibition in Europe, was restarted in Germany after two years of epidemic. Leica and Hisense jointly launched the 4K ultra short throw laser TV Leica Cine 1, which was officially unveiled. It was also the first time for the two sides to show their achievements after cooperation, attracting a lot of attention.
Previously, Hisense and Leica officially signed a technical cooperation agreement in Munich, Germany. Based on Hisense’s leading technical advantages in the field of laser display over the years and Leica’s R&D expertise in the field of high-quality optical lenses, the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation to jointly accelerate the application and popularization of ultra short throw laser TV in the global market.
Leica Cine 1 has 80 inch and 100 inch two versions, adopts 4K resolution, and is equipped with a tri color RGB laser engine jointly developed by Hisense and Leica. In addition, Leica Cine 1 uses Hisense Vidaa AI operating system.
It is said that the 80 inch Cine 1 laser TV is expected to sell for $6900, and the 100 inch Cine 1 laser TV is expected to sell for $7900. At the same time, the laser TV can be equipped with an ambient light rejection (ALR) screen, of which the 100 inch screen is about $1800 and the 80 inch screen is about $1600. (We think the price is too high, maybe much lower when it is really sell.)Leica plans to launch Leica Cine 1 laser TV in Europe in the second quarter of 2023.
Leica Cine 1 laser TV is equipped with the aspherical lens Summicron lens manufactured by Leica as a standard. It claims to bring accurate matching image size and high imaging performance, and can project 80 inch or 100 inch 4K resolution images. As the optical industry knows, Leica optical lenses are the most expensive glass in the world.
Laser TV is the first display technology dominated by Chinese enterprises in the global TV industry. Hisense is the leader in China’s laser TV industry, with more than 1800 patent applications, especially in 4K laser TV image processing and intelligent technology. In recent years, Hisense has continued to promote laser TV technology in the international market. The data shows that in the first seven months of this year, the sales volume of Hisense laser TV in the overseas market has exceeded that of last year.
Leica will take the cooperation with Hisense as an important measure to layout the new business of laser TV. The relevant responsible person of Leica said that at present, the laser TV market is growing strongly, and Leica has set foot in this field to explore more potential opportunities as part of the enterprise’s strategic growth strategy. Hisense is one of the largest TV manufacturers in the world, and also the technology and market leader in the laser TV field. It has solved the industry problems such as 4K laser TV image processing faced in the growth period of the industry, and turned the potential of high-definition 4K movie production into an amazing home theater experience. It is an ideal partner.
